Research directionMicrobiology Experiments is one of the programs of third year-second semester, which provides students an actual practice to understand the principles of microbiology. The content of the course consists of basic aseptic technique, microbial separation and screening, staining, investigation of biochemical activities of bacteria and identification of intestinal bacteria strain by analytical profile index (API), virus proliferation and culture, and hemagglutination. Besides, students will have more learning and practical applications by visiting Food Industry Research and Development Institute (FIRDI), Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), and Animal Technology Institute Taiwan (ATIT). Equipment includes optical microscopy, laminar flow hood, thermostatic shaker incubator, transmission electron microscopy, and high-temperature and pressure autoclave machine.
